My position takes a while to appear. Make sure location permission is granted to WakeNav and that GPS is enabled. On launch, the app looks for your position; an indicator is shown while locating.
The compass heading isn't accurate on the web. The compass depends on the browser's sensors and permissions; for best accuracy, use the iOS app.
How do I record a track? On the map, tap the record button. The track is saved and available under "Routes & tracks" › "Tracks" tab, with GPX export.
Can I navigate without a network? Yes — download offline charts from the settings before you leave.
You can request deletion of your WakeNav account and the associated data at any time:
Data deleted: your account and profile (email, name), your routes, your saved tracks, your boat profiles and your preferences. You can also delete an individual route or track in the app without deleting your account. Some technical data may be retained on a limited basis where required by law (e.g. security logs).
WakeNav is a navigation aid and does not replace official nautical charts or approved onboard instruments. The skipper remains solely responsible for the safety of the vessel and its crew.
